I was happy with my stay at the Gruphotel Gravina and would recommend it.

Pros: The location was excellent, next to Las Ramblas & Metro Stations.The Gothic Quarter & Barcelona Cathedral only a short walk away. The Hotel was very good value for money, with excellent breakfast choices and service, albeit the coffee was not great. A high standard of cleanliness was maintained in all areas, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons: My single room was small, but had all the essentials. The small double bed had a very hard, poor quality mattress, not offering a comfortable night's sleep! Also the room faced the interior quadrangle with extractor shafts/fans running noisily all night! The decor throughout is a bit dated, and could do with a lick of paint, but it was all very clean.

Pros: The staff were fantastic, they attended to any question or request with a quick response & smile. The room was clean, spacious & comfortable.

Cons: The noise from the street was terrible. The windows to the main road need double glazing, especially for international travellers with early flights.

Pros: Very comfortable beds and lots of pillows. Gold twos and mirrors, tea and coffee facilities

Cons: TVs did not work correctly, one didn't at all. The shower presses were very hot and didn't maintain the temperature

The best place to stay in Barcelona

Pros: It has the perfect location - near the underground and most of the landmarks, near high street shops and a lot of food stores, excellent restaurants and cafes. The staff is unique, everyone is so helpful and polite - there was a compliment from the hotel because of my birthday; the breakfast served was various and quite delicious- there was something for every exquisite taste. The rooms are perfectly clean with comfortable beds. I’d visit it over and over again!
