Hotel Mar Blau

Excellent hotel

Pros: The hotel is in a good location, 10 minutes walk from the main shopping area and beach. The facilities are good, pleasant and modern. The food was good for both breakfast and evening meal. All encounters we had with staff were friendly and helpful. They were happy to order us a taxi and also enquired about wheelchair sure for our older relatives. The cleaner came in every day which was nice.

Cons: There could be better facilities for hanging towels to dry. The jacuzzi in level 5 could be warmer.

Nice place to stay

Pros: We stayed here for Ironman Barcelona Callela and it was fab, nice location not to far from the beach and town. We stayed in the premium room which was ideal, had everything new needed and was nice and comfy! Pool area was lovely and the staff were fab

Cons: Family members stayed in normal rooms (not premium) and they did feel a little dated compared

Used the hotel during Ironman Barcelona and they could not be more helpful especially the reception staff.

Pros: The location of the property is excellent with about a 10 minute walk to the beach. The pool and bar facilities were good. The food was acceptable. Lots of choice for salad and mains were okay.

Pros: We were in Calella for the Ironman and the hotel was very conveniently located. They catered very well for the athletes and accommodated them with early breakfast times on the day of the race. The staff was very helpful, warm and welcoming.

Cons: Sections of the hotel need to be revamped, like the breakfast area. The lunchtime menu isn’t great.

Pros: The pool and bar area were lovely, the barmen were very friendly and polite as were the staff at reception

Cons: The breakfast could have had more choice although the other guests seem to really enjoy it

Pros: The staff went above and beyond for us. The rooms were spotless. Plenty of variety in food. Entertainment every night, pool and jacuzzi were immaculate too- even had aqua aerobics on a couple of mornings. Amazingly relaxingperfect

Cons: No tea bags, coffee or milk in room. No water at lunch or dinner unless paid for separately.

Pros: Was a good place, with fun activities, good staff and overall in a good location.

Cons: I feel like for the price we paid i should be able to come to a hotel with doorknobs that stay on the door, as well as to a safe with a lock on it.
