Monument Hotel

Located on the fashionable Paseo de Gracia, within 5 minutes’ walk from both Gaudi’s masterpieces Casa Battló and La Pedrera, Monument Hotel offers luxury services including a gourmet restaurant and a spa. Elegantly decorated, all soundproofed rooms have a flat-screen TV with pay-per-view channels, Bluetooth sound system, and a safe deposit box with plug for charging laptop devices. Most of the room types have a private bathroom with a free-standing bath, velour bathrobe and luxury toiletries. Most of the rooms have a balcony with city views. The 3 Michelin-starred restaurant, Lasarte, offers a range of options designed by the chef Martin Berasategui; while the on-site bistro-style restaurant, Oria, serves fresh cuisine following the Mediterranean gastronomy. Monument Hotel is a 10-minute walk from Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas; regular trains to Barcelona El Prat Airport leave from Paseo de Gracia Train Station, located 300 metres away. Free high-speed WiFi is provided. The hotel is housed on Enric Batllo’s house, an architectural jewel of 19th century that constitutes one of the characteristic works of the Eixample Quadrat d'Or and which gives it the Specialty Monument status.

A delightful hotel with a perfect location. 5 star.

Pros: The rooftop restaurant is fantastic. Breakfast was delicious with a lovely variety. We enjoyed the close proximity to Gaudi buildings, shopping and the lively areas. The room was delightful. The cocktail bar served the amazing cocktails. Concierge service is fantastic. Excellent restaurant staff make the dining experience even better.

Cons: We could not get a booking for the Michelin star restaurant. Perhaps spaces should be reserved for hotel guests with an option to accept or decline the booking(perhaps 48 hours from confirmation of the hotel room) or a pop up tab should appear upon confirmation of the hotel room offering a chance to book with the Michelin star restaurant.

Luxury and style with wonderful staff and excellent food.

Pros: Breakfast and supper on the Verbena terrace were excellent and the staff were all very helpful and always responded quickly to any request but without being intrusive which is important.

Cons: Although it was expensive the standard was very high so this is not really a complaint!

An incredibly beautiful hotel with mostly excellent staff. Would recommend.

Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, stylish hotel. Excellent reception/concierge/door staff, always friendly and helpful. All but one of the rooftop staff were also excellent. Lovely room with very comfortable beds.

Cons: My only issue is one female member of staff at the rooftop bar/restaurant was a little unwelcoming. She also provided incorrect information on the pool opening hours, telling us it was closed when in fact it was open.
