Home Away From Home
Pros: We had a wonderful 4 nights/5 days in Hotel Espana & Barcelona. From our arrival, everything went smoothly, the staff helped us with everything we needed, and at departyure they got our taxi for us, helped us load luggage in. The level of service is way above average, and we felt so at home, we did not want to leave. Elisa at the bar is really warm and friendly,Fabian in the breakfast room was very attentive, and front desk staff were really exceptional. We are looking forward to coming back in the futur.
Cons: N.A.

Pros: Check in and check out was really easy. The security guard was very friendly and kind. The shower and toiletires were glorious and having free water and juice was a lovely treat. The batteries went on the tv remote control and not only did they understand my below average catalan but they replaced them immediately.
Cons: I would've loved a window.

A gem of a hotel off Las Ramblas. Perfect for our weekend in Barcelona. Food, beds, staff all fantastic. We would come a
Pros: Great position. Comfortable beds. Delicious breakfast, in beautiful breakfast room. Lovely, attentive, helpful staff. Very clean, spotless room, cleaned everyday. We loved the rooftop bar, we used the pool, small (for swimming lengths) quite cold in November but perfect for aching joints after sightseeing and blowing the hangover cobwebs away. We had some sun and lying around up there on the loungers was heaven. I imagine in summer it is a real little haven to escape the crowds.
Cons: Renovation work but not accurate to say ‘didn’t like’. It’s not the ideal but the work is discreet, there were discounts at the rooftop bar, free glass of cava up there and have been offered more discount if we go again. If the renos are anything like the rest of it, it will be worth it.

Pros: It was unexpectedly beautiful and historic inside, with beautiful marble and mosaics from 1900 presented in tandem with more modern architecture.
Cons: The only issue for me was access to the area- la rambla was undergoing roadworks and it was challenging for my taxi to find a route to it. A temporary issue only.

A great location, chic hotel with very polite and efficient staff
Pros: The location was amazing. It was value for money considering the very central location we could walk to the beach or we could walk to the centre of Barcelona. The staff were exceptionally polite and unbelievably helpful. They arranged everything we wanted to be done for us. I love the style of the hotel. It’s very chic. It has a good concept.
Cons: The corridors are very dark almost black you can hardly see the door numbers. Unfortunately, we had no view out of our room just into a shaft area with skylights - I hadn’t realised that every day I look outside to decide what to wear but if you can’t see outside and you can’t see the sky, you have no idea whether it’s warm cold or raining. It’s a most peculiar feeling. However we understood that it is under renovation and we would recommend this hotel and we would stay there again. We understand that the alterations will allow for each room to have a window with some sort of view to the city. We appreciate that it is a city location, however our room felt very internal.
