Hotel Santa Marta

A really relaxed, safe, friendly place to stay in El Born. Highly recommended.

Pros: Room is small but comfortable, very clean & safe. Breakfast was good, staff friendly, plenty of variety. The whole place feels very secure with front desk always manned by really nice helpful people. Heaps of light fittings everywhere in room, shower great with really hot water. It’s position in Barcelona is great & a much more relaxed area than where we spent our first week in Las Ramblas, a different kind of vibe but still loads of cafes, bars & things to see. They were understanding when we had to extend due to flight problems.

Cons: We would have liked tea/coffee kettle, cups & water glasses instead of 2 wax cups, but it wasn’t a big deal.

Hotel Santa Marta offered a clean, comfortable stay in a great location, with excellent housekeeping

Pros: Hotel Santa Marta has a great location, close to the Gothic Quarter and El Born, yet in a quiet area. The rooms are spotlessly clean, cleaned daily, with towels changed regularly, which makes the stay very comfortable. Breakfast is very good — fresh and well prepared, though a wider selection for guests who do not eat pork would be a nice improvement. Overall, a very pleasant and well-maintained hotel, and I would happily stay here again.

Cons: The breakfast selection could be slightly more varied, especially with more options for guests who do not eat pork. Apart from that, there were no significant negatives during the stay.

Pros: Hotel was clean, the location was great and breakfast was good condsidering the room rate.

Cons: A mini fridge and a kettle in the room would be great but at this price point, this was still excellent value for money.

Great place to stay in the centre of Barcelona

Pros: Very nice place in the centre of Barcelona. Excellent breakfast, nice rooms, pretty much all as expected.

Cons: For 2 nights the neighbouring room was full of people that had too much to drink: shouting/laughing at 1-2 in the morning
