Pros: Good location to walk to main sites of interest. Staff went above and beyond to facilitate our stay and showed a real passion for supporting and advising visitors. Carlos in particular advised where to visit, eat and shop. All of which meant we as a family had a great stay in Barcelona

Recommended for a stay in Barcelona

Pros: Nicely sized and well appointed room. Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast and they made breakfast available for us earlier on the morning of our departure. Called taxi for us too. Room and hotel was quiet and we slept well. Most places to visit were either in walking distance or a cheap taxi ride away. Shower and bath water plentiful and hot.

Cons: Like most of the TVs in our Europe stay we could not find a way to cast Netflix etc to the TV. But that was a small issue.

A great centrally placed B & B of a high standard

Pros: The room was clean. The towels changed daily. There was a safe, fridge and good WiFi . The staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and there was free coffee and tea available 24 hr a day. The response to questions prior to visiting was excellent.

Cons: The air conditioning though effective made a lot of noise and so had to be turned off overnight.

An oasis of calm in a busy city: the perfect place to return to after a busy day

Pros: It was very centrally located for walking around the city centre. It was very clean, freshly decorated and comfortable. Very quiet at night-time for sleeping. The breakfast selection was well-presented and tasty. Carlos was very friendly and helpful on arrival & told us useful information for getting about Barcelona & suggested eating places too. He also organised our taxi pick-up for the airport. We loved Barcelona, will definitely return, and will stay at Casa Balmes again!

Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Nice clean room with big bathroom and great shower cabin. Great location. Speedy internet. We arrived far too early, and the room was ready for us to move in.

Cons: It is not a hotel like expectation. We experienced some problems standing in front of a locked door. Once we knew how it worked, it was OK.

Very comfortable and beautiful accommodation at the heart of Barcelona

Pros: Great location, in a vibrant but not too noisy neighborhood, full of restaurants and cafes. The accommodations are spacious and comfortable and the breakfast although small in variety is very tasty. The kitchen is equipped with a big pod-based coffee machine that you can use whenever you want, to the kitchen appliances, such as the microwave, which can be handy for families with babies. The staff was friendly. Overall I had a very positive experience.

Cons: The breakfast can be a problem for vegans, as it does not contain options, such as fruits or other vegan products. The air conditioning is very loud and you cannot turn the lights off, which can be annoying. Although the room floor and bathroom are super clean and tidy, it seems like nobody ever cleaned under the bed. Something slipped under it while we were staying, and when I tried to reach, I saw soo many dust. I hope the property will read this and take measures, as it can be a problem for people with dust allergies.

Great location in the heart of the city

Pros: Great location right in the heart of everything. Staff were great. Breakfast was ample. Loved the little terrace out back for afternoon drinks. Air conditioning worked well and bed was comfortable

Cons: Room was small but was expected. There is a window but there’s no view outside. I did book the cheaper room so that was my fault. I just found it very expensive but I think that’s just Barcelona.

Pros: Good location within walking distance to everything. Good breakfast offered. Room had a great shower. Very helpful staff / manager.

Cons: Room didn’t have any windows. And one can hear anyone walking upstairs, or when someone uses shower in other rooms.

Pros: We had a wonderful stay at Casa Balmes! The location is excellent, everything was very clean, and the breakfast was delicious. The room and bathroom were very comfortable, and the place was peaceful and quiet. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. I highly recommend this place!
